Self Care, Self-esteem, and Addiction:

- Low self-esteem and addiction go hand in hand.

- This applies to substance use addiction or behavioral addictions (Twitter! Facebook! Porn!)

- You are WORTHY of taking care of yourself.

đź’Ą Awareness is key.

When you feel whole, happy, and worthy,

you won't have a soul hole to fill with substances or behaviors in order to feel good.

Self-esteem is a part of Maslow's hierarchy of needs.

Taking care of yourself may seem obvious,

But our society promotes ill-health

If you are accustomed to feeling unworthy,

you may not be aware of how to reclaim your health and wellness.

You may not know how to practice self-care.

Self-care:
1) Make an appointment with a physician. Vitamin D, hormone, & thyroid issues run rampant.

Men, find someone that checks testosterone (normal providers don't test this routinely).

Females, find an OB-GYN to test for estrogen/progesterone, etc.

2) Learn how to relax.

First, you will need to exercise for your body and brain to enter into healthy work & relaxation cycles.

Then, relax proactively. This is different than watching Netflix.

You can:

- Create music
- Art
- Do yoga
- Breathe/meditate

3) Community :

If you are an overgiver, put yourself first for a change.

If you have energy vampires in your life, cut them out.

Find supportive friends & keep in touch with them.

You are welcome to DM me if you need some direction.
