A few tweets on vaccines. Too much emphasis has been placed on hesitancy and anti-vaxers. True anti-vax population is small. Certainly less than 15%. Hesitant group is bigger but positive experience of others will fix it for most. 1/n
Biggest issue for public is huge unmet demand. Estimate around 7M would line up tomorrow if they could. Only trickle available and even that has been slow to be distributed. 2/n
What’s holding back public outrage is halo of hope from initial announcements plus belief that we need to wait until vulnerable, 1st responders and front line HC workers are served. Soon though, will turn to next groups. Who will that be? What will wait time be? 3/n
Critical date is March. Marks one year of lockdowns. That’s when people will be asking when they will get access. If answer is vague “be patient, we’re all in this together” it will get difficult, fast. Especially if they hear they need to wait until the autumn for access. 4/4
