So backstory here, as a child Jeffrey Deskovic was wrongfully convicted of the brutal murder of a classmate Fought for years to prove his innocence and in the early 2000s sought to get a DNA test to show his innocence
Pirro blocked the test for YEARS because of her run at NYAG https://twitter.com/carolinajayde/status/1346275245896982532

Once Pirro was gone the new local DA quickly allowed the DNA test which would eventually get him exonerated (note exonerations even after tests take time. Exonerees can wait months or a year until everything is processed if not longer if the prosecutor is a horrific person)
But yeah DNA proved his innocence and he now has started a group to help others get exonerated, went to law school, passed the bar, and spoke at my law school roughly 10 years after I first read his story in the NYT

This article does an excellent job breaking it down, and this wasn't the only innocent man she either helped put into prison or fought to keep there. Warning to Dems, Sotomayor doesn't come out looking good either https://yonkerstimes.com/the-dark-side-of-jeanine-pirro/
