The system needs to be built around Kai and Timo. Anyone else and we are wasting those two. This would mean that certain players would need to be dropped or left out.
Chelsea need a pivot of Rice/Gilmour and Kante. Havertz being a SS and Werner to the left of Kai. Then Pulisic, CHO and Ziyech out wide dependant on their form etc.
New instructions need to be given to the full backs so that we get caught out less on the inevitable counters. This could just be something like making them work their socks off in getting back and recovering after losing possession instead of remaining in the attack.
We’ve seen glimpses of Reece doing this vs Everton. But it needs to be done on a consistent basis.
Another thing both fullbacks could do is work on when one of them goes forward whilst the other stays back. So we’d still have 5/6 players attacking with 4 or 5 staying back.

We need to stop playing aimlessly round the back and through Mendy. We need a style. Whether it’s a proper structured press like Bayern and Liverpool have or quick flowing tiki-taka passes to create the space like City. Something other than playing to the full backs and crossing.

Jorginho
Doesn’t fit our team at all.

Barkley + RLC
Good players but we have far better options for the future like Gallagher, Gilmour and Mount.

Fantastic player and I love him a lot but unless Lampard finds a way to fit him in currently we find ourselves with too many players to please.

Once we have figured out a system and got ourselves a proper style we can build on from that including new purchases like an eventual replacement or current partner for Thiago Silva. Potentially a GK to be a starter, this is so that Mendy can then move to be as a back up.
Players I’d bring in over the next 3/4 transfer windows:

Very young and one of the best in Europe.
Gimenez
Very good CB in the air. Good on the ground and overall great defender.
Rice
Perfect midfielder for this team. He’d operate similar to Matic in Conte’s system.

I’d like to hope that this could be done under Frank. But who knows
