Being solutions oriented isn’t always a good thing.
Constantly trying to solve issues, doesn’t give you the opportunity to FEEL whatever it is you are going through. Sometimes it’s ok to sit with your issues and give yourself the grace to recognize the feelings you are experiencing.
there’s something magical about takin a moment to pause- accept what is- and then move forward. Not to mention, rushing to find a solution can often lead to a feeling of failure when you can’t find a solution within the time u desire.
It can also be an issue when being there for friends...
I used to be the “don’t come cryin to me unless you are ready to take action” type of guy, until I realized there is a difference between someone looking for advice and someone simply venting.
Most people will let you know when they need help, but often people just need a friend listen to them talk through how they feel. Sitting and listening to someone can be more helpful than trying to solve their issue
Now I’m a “don’t come crying to me about the same problem twice” type of friend.
