I'm gonna talk about #DCStatehood, not the coup attempt.

The Statehood bill, #HR51, has been re-introduced in the House with an inspirational 202 original cosponsors. (Yes, @EleanorNorton really is that amazing.)

Democratic control of the Senate isn't a guarantee for #DCStatehood. We need for the Statehood bill to pass with 51 votes (not 60) in the Senate. Learn more about that fight by getting involved with @51for51. https://www.51for51.org/
For #DCStatehood to become a reality, we need for ALL @TheDemocrats (if not also some R's) to vote for it in Congress.
Statehood is in the Democratic Party Platform, thanks to the hard work of @DCDemocrats.

But #DCStatehood is not for @TheDemocrats. It's for DEMOCRACY.
> 700k people in DC have no voting representation in Congress. We pay more $ in per-capita federal taxes than any state. We have a larger population than two states. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/10/01/opinion/washington-dc-state.html

Another great way to act is with grassroots orgs that are now prioritizing #DCStatehood. One favorite: @IndivisibleTeam. Find your local chapter and/or use their resources, and get involved! https://indivisible.org/resource/making-democracy-reform-priority-dc-statehood
Final thought for now: We need all hands on board to achieve #DCStatehood. Join an organizing group, talk to friends and family, share the Statehood news. It may take a while, but we'll get there.
