That reaction that time saw from Mike Pence when he came back on the floor; the seething anger, that was not TOWARDS the insurrectionists; that was towards Trump. That was the realization that once he released his statement and didn’t agree to overthrow the election, Trump SENT
the violent insurrectionists TO THE CAPITAL to stop the certification of the electors! To stop Pence! No matter the cost! The full weight of what that meant was sinking in to Pence, and he had hours sitting in isolation to start to come to terms with that. That there is NO amount
of sycophantic behavior, that can spare you. That he sent violent people there, and didn’t care if they killed him, as long as it stopped HIM! THAT is the seething and anger you read on Pence’s face and in his voice. THAT is what you are seeing sink in for quite a number of them.
Of course we know there is no saving the Hawley’s, Cruz’s, Gaetz’s, Jordan’s, imagine what it must take for them after today to still spout that kind of bile. There is NO saving them. But Hawley and Cruz have ruined themselves. What I need you to understand is that he would have
