why my little pony : fim isn’t “just for 8 year old girls” (a thread)
1 : cartoons are for everyone, not just kids
- ppl will call it a kids show JUST bc it’s a cartoon - like what? just bc it’s animated doesn’t always mean it’s just for kids - also most ppl who say this love spongebob, anime, etc - but then have an issue with ponies w magic???
2 : main characters based off of different personality disorders (something not commonly in or even discussed in kids shows)
- something that makes a lot of us gravitate towards this show is how relatable this show can be - part 1
part 2 to 2 : and we relate mainly bc these characters are meant to all have a different disorder they are facing! this is something very creative that i have NEVER seen in a cartoon - we see twilight work through ocd and anxiety - fluttershy with social anxiety - i could go on!
