The GULF between the number of people vaccinated in Michigan and the # of vaccine doses distributed continues to grow.

It's a canyon.

It's now 551,101 doses that are NOT in people's arms.

@GovWhitmer needs to explain how this is possible.

Every big county says they're out.
Let's start with Wayne County...

Wayne County's health department (excludes Detroit) is getting 975 doses of vaccine per week.

That's 20% of what they're requesting...

If it's not in Wayne County, where is this missing vaccine in the state's numbers?
Macomb County says they're getting about 1,000 doses per week. They've asked for 50,000 for a couple of weeks supply, according to health officer Andrew Cox.

"There are 870,000 people in Macomb County — that’s not a whole lot of vaccine,” Cox said of the 1,000 per week shipment.
725,850 doses of COVID vaccine distributed in Michigan includes 245,100 transferred to CVS & Walgreens for vaccinating nursing home residents & staff.

MDHHS data started counting these Wednesday after I reported Tuesday that they weren't being counted. https://www.crainsdetroit.com/coronavirus/vaccine-backlog-grows-160000-doses-destined-michigan-nursing-homes-missing-state-data
Of the 245,100 transferred to CVS & Walgreens (45% off all UNUSED vaccine), just 11,352 nursing home residents & staff have been gotten 1st Moderna shot as of 1/6, per state data.

Ingham County (population 292,000) getting 2,925 doses per week, county health department says.

Wayne County (pop. 1.1M, minus 672K in Detroit) says it's getting 975 doses per week.

Macomb County (pop. 874K) says it's getting 1,000 doses per week. https://twitter.com/ChadLivengood/status/1347296787317600258?s=20
One point of clarity...

These vaccine dosage numbers are just what the county health departments are getting.

They don’t include hospitals within those counties, which are getting the bulk of the #COVIDvaccine.

County health agencies traditionally do vaccination work. https://twitter.com/chadlivengood/status/1347310457099587584
