Our experiences, our learnings can change the shape of our brain as well as the way it functions to some extent. it's called "Brain Plasticity"
Studies show that our brain is not“hard-wired” like a computer . But neural wiring of the brain is flexible and keeps evolving.
Experience has been demonstrated to be an important stimulant of brain plasticity. Our experiences can change neurons size, and the interneuron connections.
Neurons can reorganize them selves. For instance, in blind ppl, area of brain dedicated to vision gets recruited to verbal and auditory parts.
Although brain plasticity is influenced by many factors (including genes, age) it has been thought to be beneficial for disorders including anxiety, depression.
Thus, keep your brain in shape, stimulate it by learning, new things,by reading, by exercising.
If you have any elderly around you who might have suffered from stroke or dementia, keep talking to them, keep stimulating their brain. It will not completely heal them but will help a lot.
