How much time should a CEO spend on communication?

(THREAD)
For most of us, 2020 was the most intense and unpredictable time of our lives. Ranging from the feeling in March that the business world was going to be shaken, to the really high demand in the Digital and Software spaces we are experiencing at the moment.
But on top of that, we have all been tired and anxious because of the pandemic and its impact on our private lives.
In order to help our people get through this time, @netguru had to become the source of stability through transparency and proactive communication:
📣 When the business unpredictability was the highest we would share the business standing of the company openly with the team every week.
📣 When the team was concerned about the way we were moving forward or we made mistakes - we addressed it and talked about it as openly as we could.
📣 And once we felt secure enough to open our offices back again, we made sure people understood the rules, as well as the risks in case they decided to visit any of them.
I spent a lot of time analyzing what I should say to my team and how. The outcome was worth every single hour.
Communication is essential - this is one of my lessons learnt this year. What’s yours?
