First thing I noticed on Marcus Satterfield was he’s very multiple in his formations. He ran every thing from the I-Formation to an empty set. He rotated his personnel groupings too. Ran 10, 11, 12, 13, 20, 21 personnel. His passing game featured a lot of Air Raid concepts...
Namely Mesh and drive. His run game feature more Zone/Zone split and some read to take advantage of his mobile QB (PJ Walker), he layered that with RPOs to get Walker on the move. At Temple, his offense was more pro-style featuring under center elements.
You have to admit, we all have a love/hate relationship with pick plays, but they’re a part of this offense. At Tennessee Tech, his offenses were very balanced and they put up a ton of yards. He demonstrated his ability to get the ball in his playmakers hands. Again, he loves...
Mobile QBs, he features the popular BASH run concepts. He spent this year learning from Joe Brady and apparently he’s planning to bring some of that with him. Truth is, he’s usually been the guy people hired to fix a broken offense... each year he’s delivered some improvement...
I’m not saying he’s coming in and going to wave a magic wand, but, he’s done more with less and he uses his tight ends. Again, I want to wait and see how it looks for us, but, it’s different and South Carolina needs different.
