Here’s why I vote Green over NDP,

a thread:
#1: Democracy

The GPC is the most democratic party. They have a ranked voting system within the party. Furthermore, votes are not whipped. In other parties, an MP can be « punished » if they do not vote as their party has asked them to. Moreover, the party members vote on-
policy. Rather than people with higher leadership roles within the party choosing policy, the members have a convention every so often to decide the party’s policies.
#2: Progressive policy and climate change

The GPC is known for its climate involvement. However, the GREENS ARE NOT A ONE-ISSUE PARTY. We have the most progressive policy of any party in Canada according to the CBC Political Compass. A particular policy that the Greens have-
that the NDP doesn’t is Universal Secondary Education. This is something that has been implemented in Finland and Germany, for example. Greens just have a louder voice when it comes to GLI, electoral reform, and especially climate justice.
#3: Climate Justice

If you compare Green targets to NDP targets, there is a striking difference. We are listening to the scientists. Greens will ensure a peaceful transition for oil workers to renewable energy jobs. The NDP, particularly the BC NDP, has some strange history-
regarding climate. Jagmeet Singh was unable to say whether he was against the Coastal GasLink pipeline which runs through Indigenous land. The BC NDP has enabled over the past 3 years the widespread destruction of BC’s old-growth forests, at the same rate as the BC liberals-
#4: Integrity

During the 2019 election, the NDP created smear pamphlets confusing these FALSE accusations. First of all, the GPC is NOT anti-abortion, nor is Elizabeth May. May even protested the closing of abortion clinic 554. ( http://thebruns.ca/articles/crowds-rally-to-protest-closing-of-clinic-554-elizabeth-may-attends)-
The Greens have offered many times to work with the NDP on making this country a better place. Despite this, the NDP continues to throw us under the bus.
Unfortunately, we are not as big as the NDP on the federal level (on some provincial levels we are bigger than them), but not too long ago we had less than 1% of the vote. Last election, we had 7%. We are growing, and quick. All the Greens need to thrive is some better-
organization and better messaging. I hope to see a large Green surge this decade, because with our planet burning and our people hungry, we need help.
