14 months.
In March 2017 @CalvinSehrt came to visit me in Wales for the first time. We started our trip in Dublin on a sunny spring day.
Calvin's flight was delayed because of snow in Illinois, but he made it eventually and we went straight to the Jameson Distillery, to learn about the whiskey-making process and drink some free samples (I gave Calvin mine).
Afterwards we walked through Temple Bar, took some pictures, ate some burgers.
We stayed at the best hotel in Dublin. It was called The Dean and it's do not disturb sign game was next level. We ate breakfast in the rooftop restaurant the next morning before catching a train to Belfast.
In Belfast we went to the Titanic Museum. The museum stands in the former Harland & Wolff shipyard where the Titanic was built between 1909 and 1911 and it was extremely interesting.
We also met a giant fish, ate a delicious meal at Made in Belfast and drank Guinness at the Crown Liquor Saloon (I think Calvin got most of my Guinness too).
The next day we caught a train up to Coleraine and then a bus to the Giant's Causeway. The Causeway was a magical place, unlike anywhere we had ever been before and we loved exploring the basalt columns and windy cliff tops.
We returned to Dublin on St. Patrick's Day (shamrock-shaped doughnuts in sticky hands) and visited the Guinness Storehouse. I gave it another go, but Calvin once again benefited from my tastes. In the evening we caught the ferry to Holyhead.
We spent the next few days in North Wales, enjoying time with my family and friends, playing games and eating lots of food. We went to Conwy and visited the castle and the Smallest House in Great Britain (two Calvins tall).
We went to Beaumaris, ate fish and chips (Calvin almost ordered a burger!!!) and visited castle number two. We also went to Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch (need's must).
Calvin got his first taste of Snowdonia and it was love at first sight (his jeans didn't love the mud at the bottom of that big rock quite so much).
One day we went to Chester. We toured the cathedral, walked the city walls and visited the Roman amphitheatre. Calvin tried his first ever Nando's and it was a huge hit.
Eventually we said 'hwyl fawr' to North Wales and caught the train down to London.
We ate tacos and Shake Shack, climbed to the top of the viewing tower at the Tate, took our traditional photobooth photo and watched Book of Mormon.
We also spent a day at the Harry Potter Studio tour and took roughly two million photos each.
Then we flew back to Dublin, so Calvin could catch his flight home and once again the countdown to our next adventure was on.
Congratulations if you read all of those tweets! I don't know how we managed to pack so much into just ten days, but our next holiday included two road trips and two weddings, so these threads are only going to get longer from here.
