All of you activists who've been coshed on the head, punched, or been pushed to the ground, jarring your brain?
It can take over a year for a TBI to heal.

Some TBI symptoms can be:
Anger and irritation.
Trouble focusing.
Losing words.
Fog or other general brain difficulty.
Disrupted sleep patterns.
Headaches.

Please be gentle with yourselves if you think you might have a TBI:
Set all screens to "nighttime" and as orange as you can make them.
Take breaks from screens.
Get gentle exercise if you can. Outside is good.
Drink water.
Take Omegas--fish oil if you can.

I crashed my bicycle hard in August. I was wearing a helmet. *I did not hit my head* so I thought I was fine, until I was on a Zoom call and couldn't focus my eyes.
The bike crash jarred my brain against my skull hard enough to give me a TBI.
Just because you were wearing head protection at the demo does not mean you didn't get a TBI when hit or pushed.

Again: with TBIs--and any trauma--rest is needed.
Take breaks. Ask for help.
We need you.

(I'm saying all of this, because its been since August and my brain still isn't right. Better, yes, but not healed.)
Another TBI symptom for me: loss of appetite, mild nausea.
