Yaaa! All "Hindus" must stop listening to Bollywood songs, better yet start writing them in shuddh Hindi, like "pareeekshaaaa ho gayi dhairya ki, aayi na kuchh samachar mere premi ki"

Sounds fun, "Hindus"!! https://twitter.com/entropied/status/1347746616992616455
Jokes apart, this idea that Hindi and Urdu are separate languages is hilarious. Hindi is around 80 percent Urdu, both spoken and written. Yaar, Aashiq, sanam is quite well known among Hindi speakers. Hardly anyone uses "premi" etc
And it's so intricately a part of the language, most "Hindus" don't realise they are speaking Urdu most of the time. I had to go to DSAL dictionaries to find the shuddh hindi equivalent for "khabar". Who says samachar patra, literally everyone uses Akhbaar!
There's obviously a major disconnect in Hindi taught in schools (hello, paryayvachi shabd!) that most Hindi speakers find difficult to learn. Taught "ashwa", always spoken "ghoda". But that goes with what Indian schools teach in other subjects too, very little helps in life etc
Lastly, equating languages with religion is the reason why India needs to heavily encourage humanities studies. That'll teach you how a langauge is not bound by a religion, and how ahistorical is the idea that Hindi is "Hindu" and is different from Muslim "Urdu"
