My Opinion
I prefer him in the box to box Number Eight role, because then he can display every quality on and off the ball. My ideal Midfield is a three of Bruno slightly advanced, Fred/Matic sitting, Donny box to box. Summer - Buy an Elite DM to allow this to work better.
