my thread of thoughts after reading about kenoh for hours. thank you @Hi5ame for your translation work
kenoh left ohara bc he felt the conflict within him between fighting for himself and for others had been causing him to lose. being w ohara meant friendship and affection and kenoh didnt want to be a person who expressed that anymore, or to adjust his wrestling for someone else.
now humor isnt necessary and he rarely laughs. thats the price of feeling you cant waste a second on things youll regret. hobbies like the ocean recharge his mind and keep him pure-hearted, rewards like nice cars create motivation to fight and set an example for fans.
kenoh is obsessed with goals. he must always have a "theme". he doesnt complain for fun but bc he must be trying to change something or his fights will be less passionate. insults are also how he succeeds as a heel, getting the face to react improves the tension of the fight.
in fact, he believes in the power of positive thinking and the law of attraction. he visualizes his goals coming true and says they will again and again so that they will happen.
kenohs attachment to noah isnt just a company loyalty thing. its that he sees noah as the place where he can best be himself and wrestle the way he wants to, so advancing noah is inseparable from advancing himself. he has to be at the front of his own development and thus noahs
now that his identity is tied to noah, any mismanagement of it or denial of him at its reins is a personal attack. he believes in his ability to wrestle and his judgment, even if he is self-deprecating about most other things. his brain is primed to see opposing him as unjust.
at the same time, he does acknowledge that had he easily won it all when he first turned heavyweight, he would have become arrogant and drunk with power. that is part of why hes so worried about kiyomiya, who is seeking it all years earlier than he did.
kenoh helps develop those in kongoh bc he thinks strong innovative people need to be in noah to drive it forward. yet he kindly lets anyone who wants to leave go without criticizing them. no ones freedom is compromised by justifying it with their talent being necessary for use.
but the one person kenoh cant let go of is kiyomiya. its seemingly the personal connection, and its a bit hypocritical, seeing as hes against wanting to control people in your industry (and having romantic or sexual feelings for them, rip axiz).
the funny thing is that he partially acknowledges the companys opposition as a good thing. it lets him have a more exciting story and he can create his own happy ending. maybe being betrayed by a teammate wouldnt be so bad either by that logic...
