Some thoughts I’ve been having: We keep hearing conservatives claim that big tech companies cannot be forced to allow people free speech on their platforms because they are private companies, so their rules, they can do whatever they like.
Well, right now, for all practical purposes, these companies have unofficially become the arm of the Democrat party. They’ve been acting like it in even more unofficial capacity since the 2016 elections, and now they are openly doing the Democrats’ bidding.
Democrats have the presidency, the house, and the senate. They create and enforce the laws. Conveniently, these companies are also under judicial protection created by laws that make them very nearly impossible to sue.
Democrats have openly asked the tech companies for more censorship, and the companies complied as soon as they were assured of government protection when the Democrats got power.

It’s utterly embarrassing. *Europe* recognized the inherent dangers of a conglomerate of powerful companies silencing their citizens-and acted. Whatsapp updates allows Facebook to read all Whatsapp communications in the US-but not in the EU.
In the US we have been smugly complacent, talking about how we don’t do this to private companies. These private companies are more powerful than our government. They can silence us more effectively than our government ever can.
And now they are actively working with one political party against the other. We’ll scream about private companies and the free market while they take away our individual privacy, until our voices dwindle to a whisper and then are effectively silenced.
Think I’m paranoid?

Maybe I’m not. These are the same companies that are working hand in glove with the CCP on the social credit system in China.

Democrat politicians have called for more conservatives to be silenced. For anyone who voted for Trump-or even just against Biden-to be reeducated. For any dissenting media to be deplatformed. And the big tech companies seem only too happy to help.
Sane members of the Democrat party may want to contemplate why companies who are quite happy to help authoritarian countries shackle their own citizens are now working with Democrats against Republicans. Keep in mind that you need them, they soon won’t need you.
Maybe the real fascism was all the Big Tech Trump met along the way.
