1. EA is in the US, not Poland.
2(?). I don't recall EA releasing something that's bricked hardware to the extent of CDPR.
3. EA's been in trouble before.
4. investigation =/= lawsuit
5. Rather than defending bad practice because someone else gets away with it, go after both???
Another thing that's really bothered me about this whole '77 thing:
1. Signs of crunch under that studio were brought to light years before the game's release
2. People warned it'll probably be poor quality
3. Fanboys get upset at the criticism
4. Game releases, journalists report bugs but give decent/good reviews
5. Fanboys go as far as threaten journalists for even the slightest criticism
6. They play the game and realize, oh, it actually is bugged
Meanwhile, those who either acknowledged that there'll probably be bugs or just didn't acknowledge anything period (i.e. were much more rational), the main response has been something like "it's buggy but otherwise fairly enjoyable"
Fittingly, those same people that maintained a much more tame response for the most part didn't speak over marginalized folk about the writing/images that had come up from the writers/creators themselves.
fanboys are exhausting, & catering to them will only hurt you in the long run, because as soon as you mess up in their eyes, you're dead to them.
I'm guessing those in the original image didn't experience the same issues/were possibly PC considering they're still playing defense.
They (cdpr) have definitely catered to them hardcore. I've been sorta' wary of them for a couple/few(?) years now because of some of the tweets the GOG twitter account had made in order to do this.
On that note, there was a tweet recently that bothered me, and it can go beyond just cdpr - implying that people did a sudden 180 on their stance toward them, comparing witcher 3's response to cp77
Witcher 3 was released 5 years ago. That's plenty of time for things to change.
Like, if anything, those that were like "hey they might not actually be the pro-consumer good-guy company people made it out to be" didn't do a 180 at all; things came to light, and in order to stick with their principles, their opinion shifted with that.
The company's what seemingly "changed" (or at least public information/knowledge did). And it wasn't sudden/within the few months before cp77's release; people had been pointing things out as I said for years.
Heck, I think someone (friend? article? idr) mentioned recently that Witcher 3's release wasn't the perfect garden of eden people make it out to be; however I don't know much about that so I don't wanna' go into that myself, just bring it up in case that is a thing.
One last thing that's bothered me is that people have used Pondsmith? as a way to excuse any issue of representation in the game (there was even a forum post I came across supposedly under that name which was essentially "I'm black so shush" but I have doubts about it being real)
Two names: Kanye, Contrapoints
Kanye had for the longest time been backing Trump, who's fueled lots of racist hate across the country and even beyond the US.
Contrapoints some time ago essentially accused nonbinary folk of holding back trans people.
Even if they side with your 'view,' one person is not a speaker for an entire demographic, and is especially not a speaker for multiple marginalized demographics.
(that forum was obscure/unverifiable from what I remember, so on that note, if they don't side with your 'view,' then of course the excuse falls even flatter)
(note: the ? was because I'm not good with names so I might be mistaken on who it is I'm thinking of, did a search and saw their role)

Anyways, this is a really long thread so I should probably end it off here. There's just a lotta' thoughts I've had I wanted to collect
and those replies from the original pic just reminded me of that.

On that note, this bundle has ended, but the games are still around, give it a look (even if you have/enjoy '77, which that alone is perfectly fine): https://itch.io/b/723/be-a-better-cyberpunk
