The irony of journalists describing/alluding to Trump's supporters as "drinking the kool aid" is that most of the people who died at Jonestown via poisoned drink were black.
I think this is a failure both in how we understand Jonestown (forced suicide) and the activeness of white complicity in racial supremacy (you might be sold false and racism-exploiting promises by a politician, but you are certainly not "duped" into being a racist)
