Dear lizard twitter: There's a lizard on my porch that is sitting up like he's looking at me but he won't move. Is he dead? Is he just cold? Am I weird for wanting to put a blanket on a possibly dead lizard?
He’s alive! But like...CLEARLY not in great shape. Gonna put him in a warm box in the house. And other lizard advice?
LIZARD UPDATE: I’m on the back porch and I’ve made a tiny cave atop a heating pad and I’m reading next to him to scare off any predators. He’s turning a more lizardy color and blinks at me when I turn the page.
He licked at a spoonful of water I gave him, turned greener and then crawled to a higher part of the towel, which seems like it would be colder but I guess lizards know what they need. This is more stressful than raising a teenager.
The heating pad died so I’ve decided to bring Queen Elizardbeth inside for the night. It’ll be warmer tomorrow so he can go free then. But...he won’t let go of my hand.
