I just read this fic and it really got me thinking about how i can’t even imagine the writers giving sam or dean a chance to idk go to therapy ? they both are the epitome of ptsd but yet +
giving them a finale where they show them actually taking care of their problems would probably be seen as “weak” and “boring” by the writers (like how they always treated mental illness on the show, martin etc, he was just “crazy”). and THAT made me realise how +
romanticised suicidal and destructive thoughts are on the show, and even deans relation to John. They made so many hints that he physically abused dean yet they gave him an episode where it was all forgiven and they laughed together, completely ignoring his damage to +
both sam and dean. and then deans death, we all already talked about it but it’s actually sickening that they could give out the message that the most destructive character on the shows ONLY way out his death, because he goes to heaven which also is hella romanticised.
this was a hella long rant but yeah that fic got me thinking bc it ACTUALLY took care of sam and dean in a somewhat realistic way, and most importantly dean wanted to live. so i needed to get this out. i hate spn. goodnight now
