Late in the 2016 season, I talked to Scott Cochran about how much Alabama's staff had changed during the Saban era.
Cochran (S&C), Burton Burns (RBs), and Jeff Allen (athletic trainer) were the only staffers left who had been with Saban at Alabama since he was hired in 2007.

Cochran could rightfully claim to be as important to Alabama's success as any other assistant. Here's what he said:
"It doesn't matter. It's (Saban). 100 percent it's him. Hands down. It's not even close. It's him. You can put whoever you want in all those seats. It's him."

The entire Alabama staff (excepting Allen, who is still there) has since turned over again.
No assistant coaches left from 2016 or the 2017 championship team, or that recruited the 2017 class. Six of them are head coaches now (including analysts).
And Alabama is still winning.
