Party arrests now are functionally the equivalent of Youtube shitheads always wearing a beanie to hide premature male pattern baldness while they rant about mole children. The lists of dissidents arrested in 2020 is a who's who of complete wankers that Western media has sanitized
into actually being people worthy of sympathy. American discourse hegemony meant these sorts of people were tolerated because they were powerless, disorganized, and unamplified. China didn't because they actually posed a risk. Now that the US state recognizes it's own domestic
propaganda edifice is no longer unblemished and insurmountable, the US state security apparatus is coming for it's own domestic cranks as well.
