Scottish people that live/grew up outside the Central Belt, what's something you wish the Central Belt Scots knew?
I'll bite, Aberdeen isn't 100% posh and we don't all work in oil but at the same time Aberdeen's economy is heavily reliant on it. Other industries are retail, hospitality, public sector and construction. The shire then has fishing and farming.
This always the surprises weegies: all state high schools in Aberdeen are non-denominational (not sure about private) and you can easily make it to adulthood without having heard of the Orange Order.
Public transport, the central belts system is far from my perfect but its outstanding compared to the northeast. Aberdeen only has two train stations and the airport goes to way less places (my parents have to remind me of their limited options regularly lol)
