We've heard some calls for self-reflection and Cheshbon ha-Nefesh over the past week, but this is the first piece I've seen that actually enters that process head-on.
Rav Lopiansky is obviously constrained in various ways, as he's writing for an overwhelmingly pro-Trump audience.
Nevertheless, with a soft but firm touch he focuses firmly on the underlying problems that brought about the embrace of strong Trumpism that has resulted, most recently, in the horrifying events of last Wednesday.
He admits the rubbing off of secular (Trumpist) culture on the frum community, and bemoans it. He critiques the lack of civility and critical thinking that have been manifest throughout these past years and which have led to the present disaster.
He calls out the recent trend wherein frum Jews choose politicians not on their merits but on the basis of unthinking and unhealthy emotional attachment.
