The lack of awareness surrounding the impact of actually leaving DV is shocking. My guess is most survivors struggle to come out & talk openly about their experiences. People often leave with nothing or minimal possessions, they are then displaced causing issues with school/work.
Some refuge settings can be questionable as well as being placed with strangers. After "serving your time" you are then displaced again, highly unlikely the local authority can re-house you so you & your family are placed into temporary accommodation which again could be anywhere
