So did toji care about megumi at the end? I don’t really get his character :/ — I personally think the implication is that he always cared and tried to do what was best for Megumi given his limited circumstances. https://curiouscat.qa/jujutsugif/post/1174267037

I personally think the implication is that he always cared and tried to do what was best for Megumi given his limited circumstances.

He was in love with Megumi’s mother and was happy and settled in their little family. That was the first time he had really experienced ‘family’ though and, when he lost her, he wasn’t equipped at all to deal with it.

Not sure whether it was before or after Meg’s mother but he used to get by by seeking out women to sleep with as a means of keeping a roof over his head, like he STRUGGLED.

When he reaches out to Naobito about handing Meg over to the Zen’in clan, it’s because he’ll be treated well (by Toji’s standards) due to his technique. He thinks he’ll be better off there than with him.

It’s not really that clear why he told Gojou about Meg, like what exactly he expected to happen (“Do what you want”) so it seems like his priority is just... making sure there’s still someone looking out for Megumi when he’s gone.

He forcibly took conscious control of that body in Shibuya to protect Megumi; his feelings for his kid triggered that. He was happy in his dying moments because he knew Megumi was free to live his life on his own terms. He def cared.

He was still a shit father. That actually makes him a more compelling character imo - he made bad, easy decisions and he’s never forgiven for that, his intentions were don’t change the material reality.
