This is my first time putting my work out there, so hope you enjoy. I will be doing a lot more in the coming weeks/months, so if you like it stay tuned!

I am taking an in-depth look at the exciting 21-year-old Bartosz Slisz from Legia Warsaw in Poland.

*THREAD*
The Polish U21 international has played almost every game for Legia Warsaw in the Ekstraklasa and the UEFA Europa League this season. He plays as the deepest lying holding midfielder, shielding the defense and linking play in build-up.

An Overview:
Slisz's aggression stands out immediately, he is hungry to make and win challenges. When you watch him play you instantly think he was born to play Bielsa-ball with his enthusiasm and energy to apply defensive pressure.
He is physical and opposing in his challenges when he goes in he will either take the ball or the man, he rarely allows for both to get past. He has an aggressive, front-footed defending style. He closes space early on opponents leading to a high number of final third recoveries
Taking a look at some videos here, you can see the aggression and anticipation he possesses. He reads the game well which allows him to slide into the right position to break up play. Sometimes his aggression and hunger can lead to him overcommitting at times.
With this being said, his style is a risk but leads to some major reward when he gets it right. The anticipation he possesses to sniff out danger quickly combined with his aggression leads to some impressive ball recoveries, keeping his side on the front foot.
If his opponent is able to face him up, Slisz will square his body up well but tends to reach in to win the ball rashly which does lead him to getting beat. He needs more discipline in order to not dive in and get beat with ease.
His ability to see the danger early helps him when defending his box. When crosses come in from deep he slides in between the center backs and is excellent in the air. He positions himself well to block cutbacks and low crosses when the ball is in the half-spaces.
During build-up, Slisz looks to get on the ball by either filling in space on either side of the center backs creating a back three, or finding pockets in between the oppositions forward and midfield line. He likes to keep his passing simple, showing his range with long diagonals
Slisz is a powerful and determined dribbler, when he sees space to drive into he doesn't hesitate. He also arrives with late runs into the box well when he decides to charge forward.
When under pressure Slisz can tend to panic and get his pocket picked. He sometimes thinks he has more time than he actually does and instead of shielding the ball he shows the ball, allowing him to get picked off. Overall his passing and confidence on the ball needs to improve.
Slisz's aggression and anticipation are what catch the eye and set him apart. If he is able to be more disciplined in his challenges and grow in awareness and confidence on the ball, there is no doubt he will be playing in one of Europe's top 5 leagues very soon.
If you made it all the way to the end thank you! I really enjoyed doing this and have more stuff like this on the way soon. Since this is my first time, any feedback and advice would be really appreciated!
