Link the patient & the families together via telephone/video call etc. Some patients have been on the ward for over a month & haven't seen any family over Christmas. A 90 year old man broke into tears yesterday when he was able to see & talk to his family via video. 2/
He would otherwise have been isolated in a room without any interaction.
Don't underestimate the therapeutic value of social interaction during uncertain & scary times, even if it's virtual. It's a great alternative.
