The big problem with the @DNC isn't that it does bad things. It's that it doesn't do much of anything at all. All the leadership picks outside of the Chair were a last minute afterthought, because all the real power in the party is vested outside the official party organization.
Sitting legislators should not be @DNC executive board members. They have bigger fish to fry and can't devote the time to running a party apparatus. The Party needs to be run by institutional partisan organizers who make it a full-time job. /2
People will argue endlessly but none of it matters bc no one but the Chair matters, anyway.

In terms of 2022, all the power is vested in the DCCC and DSCC, which are both completely opaque, do not make decisions democratically, are run as incumbent protection rackets, and are functionally controlled by a small coterie of wealthy consultants. /4
Everything about American politics is broken. Top to bottom.
And that includes how the parties are run themselves.

It's the worst of all worlds to be locked into a two-party system where both parties are weak Potemkin organizations.

Americans are both hyperpartisan, & incredibly distrustful of political parties. It's a horrible cognitive dissonance that hurts our democracy.
We need actual party organizers in charge of the Dem Party. The actual party organ should actually be in charge. It should do stuff./7

An explicitly anti-partisan president should not be functionally in charge of an explicitly partisan organization. Partisan organizers like Abrams and Beto should be running the party, with dem accountability.
