The people who follow me on twitter and I don't always see eye to eye and that's fine. But if that applies to you, please don't wade into my mentions to tell me how disappointed you are that we're not more alike as if that's something I've done *to you*
I'm tired of people saying "I like you but..." and then mentioning topics on which we disagree as if I've lost my way or been duplicitous or somehow failed them.
I'm not pulling a rouse. I haven't planned and executed some cunning betrayal, I've made you realise that the picture of me you have in your head doesn't match the reality, because we don't actually know one another - and that's not on me.
All that might sound unkind or egotistical, but I need to say it nonetheless - occasionally people act like because they follow your stuff online they somehow own you and that you need to cut out the bits they don't like to see. Fuck that.
