Fate fandom discourse 127947323123: Canon ≠ continuity

Both Fate/Zero and Fate/Stay Night are considered canon. They just happen in different timelines, universes, or whatever you wanna call them.
TLDR: The Saber at the beginning of FSN isn't the same Saber from the end of FZ, in the same vein Urobuchi's version of the 4HGW isn't the same as Nasu's.
"Fate/Zero Saber sucks" has definitely become a meme to an extreme. However, people make fun of the inconsistencies because those same inconsistencies are the reason why FZ and FSN aren't considered to be in the same continuity, which was the initial goal of both Uro and Nasu.
If you love F/Z Saber, that's great. She's an interesting take on the character that works really well within Uro's version of the 4HGW. But when people say her characterization contradicts her own lore, they aren't saying it just to trash on F/Z. It's a criticism that has merit.
