I don't have any problem with 25k NG troops in DC or the mall being shut down.

I have a problem with why they're needed.

If we're entering an era where our capitol has to be semi-permanently locked down, well, that's the price you pay for letting white supremacists, gun nuts and militia folks just slowly increase in size and strength without pushing back or even tracking them.

I really think we're a few years away from politicians being virtually cut off from the public due to safety concerns. It wouldn't surprise me if most government buildings in DC ban public tours and even most campaigning and town halls are done online instead of in person.
