Rant alert - I’m so angry at so called journalists gaslighting NHS staff who are actually working in the pandemic and telling us that it isn’t as bad as we are experiencing and that it is just another bad winter.
This is not a bad winter. This is nothing like a bad winter.
We know because we work through bad winters most years.

You have amazing reporting by @lewis_goodall and @BBCHughPym who have been to hospitals and visited wards and intensive care units and are reporting on the reality and accurately showing just how dire the situation has gotten.
And then you have the worst subset of the media telling us we are wrong, it isn’t that bad, using their platforms to spread lies because they are lying!!

In a bad winter we may have to cancel some elective surgery, we may have to flex staffing, we may have to expand some services to cope.
Now the system is teetering on a breaking point and staff are very much teetering on a breaking point too.

To be told over and over again that it isn’t that bad, that this is just a bit worse than normal is condescending to start and down right pig ignorant - I wish I could say the actual words that I think about these people but I chose to try and take the high ground.
So how dare they come after consultants like @drphiliplee1, how dare they tell us we aren’t experiencing what we are living day in day out. How dare they.
