#CrackNetflix is crazy. It already confirmed so much that we knew but Reagan truly was the d**il. The devastation crack caused in the Black community in the U.S, specifically New York was intentional and evil above all else.
Every single time I view that clip of Hillary Clinton saying, “super-predators” my left eye twitches. That woman really tried to rebrand with some hot sauce and Auntie pant suits. #CrackNetflix
The intentional usage of the terms “crack kids” and “crack babies” during the height of crack era in the U.S is why I cringe whenever people use those terms in jest. Especially since it was targeted towards Black mothers #CrackNetflix
The vilification that Black women who were using crack faced was disgusting. Especially since it seems that there was a concentrated effort to dismantle the Black family, instead of providing resources in the community. #CrackNetflix
That white nurse, Shirley Brown who was based in South Carolina....
Secretly testing pregnant Black mothers for crack use and then calling the police to arrest them bedside after delivering the baby...

The narratives that were written about Black women in Hip/Hop without Black women telling their own stories was so problematic.
Namely “Your Mamas On Crack Rock” by The Dogs.
So not only was the government targeting Black women, their community was too. #CrackNetflix

By the time the TNT task force was formed in NY, Black and brown crack customers were getting arrested at record rates DESPITE the majority of the crack users being WHITE. I’m sick. #CrackNetflix
Reagan layed the blueprint, Bush did the groundwork and Bill Clinton upped the ante x100. It was mentioned in the documentary that police on the streets almost acted like soldiers and surveillance was amplified. #CrackNetflix
During Clinton’s reign, the federal anti-drug benefit was 12 billion dollars, which was 6x more than when Reagan was in office. And it kept climbing. #CrackNetflix
When Clinton signed the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act in 1994, that poured more into police surveillance is bigger and smaller cities and also people saw an explosion in the prison population.
Why do Black people like this man again? #CrackNetflix

“Two thirds of crack users were white but between the passage of the Anti-Drug Abuse Act in 1988, and 1994, the passage of Clinton’s crime Bill, not a single white person was convicted of a federal offense in Los Angeles.” #CrackNetflix
Between 1985 and 1995 there was a 707% increase of Black prisoners for drug offenses in the U.S. #CrackNetflix
Maxine Waters been a G. #CrackNetflix
The CIA’s involvement in the distribution of crack use across the U.S was deliberate and I highly doubt that these folks have been held accountable for destroying the Black community. This moment in time has had immeasurable effects. Effects that cannot be reversed #CrackNetflix
Why was it a ‘war on drugs’ but not a war on those supplying the drugs? We know the answer but it angers me that those in high authority were able to skate by in their lives while the Black community suffered. #CrackNetflix
Just finished the documentary. I’m pleased. It was informative, but the more I indulge in these stories, I realize how much Black people have suffered at the hands of the government. Especially presidents and politicians who have sworn to protect them. #CrackNetflix
