My thoughts on the Chargers new HC Brandon Staley:

In his first year as DC the Rams finished 1st in the NFL in fewest total yards allowed and also in passing defense. They were 3rd in rushing defense and scoring defense.
Staley’s calling card was his Eagle front having his 2 Ends play 4/4i then they’d line the OLBs as Wide 9’s. It made it hard for OL to climb to the 2nd level cause it forced them to double at the line. Helped create free runners at the LB spot & helped DL penetrate
Staley also left Ramsey on an island so the S could get in on the action too. The issue is the scheme he’s bringing to the Chargers is a possible switch back to 3-4. Chargers don’t have a lockdown CB/anyone in the same stratosphere as Aaron Donald/enough talent on the DL
Jalen Ramsey did say Staley is the best coach he’s ever played for (that's obv a big compliment coming from him) & called him a genius, Sean McVay said that Staley might be the only guy more obsessed with football than he is.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Staley did a master job at adapting his personnel in-game by reacting to what opposing offenses gave him. He only allowed 3 or fewer points in the second half in 8 out of his first 9 games as DC.
Brandon Staley also has the unique perspective of being a QB in college and coaching the defensive side of the ball.
