What I continue to point out every year is that King was hated by so many when he was assassinated because of his 'radical' stances on war and actually helping poor people.

Many of those praising him today would have publicly ridiculed him back then.
Many of those praising him today publicly ridicule organizers, activists, and groups that actually have continued to fight for what he pushed.

Consider how people who argue for increased minimum wage from survival to liveable are mocked or lectured.
Many of those singing his praises in congress have also voted to 'deregulate' entities that were building the factual data to show lending discrimination in America still.

Many of those singing his praises support the industrial war complex and private prisons.
As a black man in America fighting fights that should have been over with my parents and grandparents, it is extremely annoying year in and year out to watch this nonsense.
But alas, we are here and the fight continues.

Let's celebrate the nice King that doesn't challenge us to be better🙄
