Today Toronto's Board of Health voted unanimously to urge the Ontario Government to take immediate, additional actions to address rising rates of COVID-19 and mounting pressure on our health care system – starting with 10 days of paid sick leave for all workers.
Toronto's Board of Health is urging the Province to keep people safe and save lives, by implementing:
Protections for essential & frontline workers
Proactive workplace inspections
Financial supports for people & businesses
Expanded test, trace, and isolate systems

The Board of Health has also asked our Medical Officer of Health to consider and implement any additional public health restrictions under her authority, in order to stop the spread of COVID-19 and save lives in our city.
Lockdowns are necessary. But they only work when people are supported so they can stay home. That means:
1) Providing paid sick leave
2) Income support for workers and closed businesses
3) Making sure essential workplaces that stay open are safe
