Some obscure trivia about cricket in Brisbane.
Most of them are pre World War II.
On FC cricket.
And some of them, I guess, are quite interesting.

In the Victoria innings, Son Noonan was stumped off a no-ball. Not hearing the call, he left the field.
The keeper pulled out a stump and he was dismissed 'run out'
4. 1905/06
QLD v VIC
Rain washed out the opening day's play. Both captains agreed to play the second innings on a new pitch. Probably, the last time more than one pitch was used in an Australian FC match.
Victoria had only 10 fit men and so their manager EE Bean had to play.
5. 1919/20
QLD v AIF
CE Maddock was absent on the final day due to a court appearance on a charge of stealing money and other minor items from the players' dressing room.
This was his second and final FC appearance.

This was Strudwick's only wicket in a 675 match career.
7. 1932/33
QLD v South Australia
In the first innings, AR Lonergan was given out bowled from the bowling of E. Gilbert. He had played on but the bail did not fall to the ground. So, he should have been given not out.

E. Gilbert was not chosen for QLD. He was declared unfit for selection by the Department of Aborigines.
9. 1936/37
QLD v NSW

He was dismissed on 96
NSW keeper Oldfield pointed out that DT had touched a ball signalled as 4 byes
Umpire Adams instructed the scorers at the end of the day's play to redistribute the runs accordingly
10. There were people who were skeptical about Bradman’s skills as a captain.
The first field he set in the Brisbane Test of 1936 raised a few eyebrows. McCormick was the bowler. There were three slips, a cover and the captain at point.
10 (continued).
He asked Bill O'Reilly to field at short-leg!
Worthington mishooked the first ball and Oldfield caught it comfortably.
That was enough. O'Reilly lumbered across to point to speak to the skipper.
He never again fielded in that position.
11. Nov/Dec 1992.
Aus v WI.
Patrick Patterson, in his last Test, batted at number 10.
For the only time in his career.
If he hadn't it would have been the longest complete career as a number 11 batsman.
12. 1993.
Allan Border's testimonial.
Richard Hadlee to Greg Chappell.
Underarm!
Chappell had a laugh.
Hadlee too.
This time it all ended rather peacefully.
