Re: the achillean discourse

Wasn't it just like a few months ago that the same folks were saying that bi and non-binary lesbians HAD to use terms like sapphic and vixenamoric, and explicitly brought up achillean as how they thought it should work? I wonder what changed?
Just kidding, I know what changed: nothing. It's totally consistent when you realize that it's not, and never was, about anything but the discourse itself. The ONLY way these discourses make sense is if you view them as an attempt to isolate trans people from the community.
And we know this is a tactic the far right has used before. The Heritage Foundation has admitted that its goal in funding TERF groups is to split off the T from the rest of the community, to make us all weaker.
TERFs admit that their support of aphobia and transmedicalism is a way to split nonbinary people off to make trans people weaker. Divide and conquer is such a basic tactic that it's a fucking idiom.
These things are always calculated to SEEM like minor, fringe discourse, while putting major splits in the community. This discourse, like the mspec lesbian one cloaks a wedge designed to drive a major rift in the community in fringe discourse.
In the case of transmed rhetoric, it's a TERF wedge: if you're "one of the good ones," it means most of the rest aren't. With mspec lesbian discourse, it's the divide between lesbians and bi women, and trans women get thrown under the bus as well.
Similarly, this achillean discourse is aimed at driving a rift between gay men and lesbians. And if you say that, it's always "oh no, no, it's this SPECIFIC identity that's the problem," but then all the arguments are "men steal everything from lesbians" and the like.
And like, obviously that's not true to begin with, but it also really plays up the radfem sympathies in this particular discourse community, which, shocker, hurts trans people. Again.
And all the while, TERFs and the fucking Heritage Foundation are looking on with glee, already drafting bills and orders designed to outlaw being gay entirely, ban hormonal birth control, and the like, using our own division as an excuse like they are in Britain right now.
