Why is @DanielAndrewsMP still popular?
Who are the #IStandWithDan crowd?
Questions that kept many media segments occupied for months and so many experts had been offering their two cents worth of opinions on every other show.
The guns seem to be turning around

Since the 2nd wave of Victoria, the lockdown, curfew, masks etc. were used as opportunities to capitalise against the government in order to score politically. Hence, it was not about health advice but for purely opposition to whatever the government was doing (right or wrong)
Media also joined into these efforts for their personal reasons, and any popularity of @DanielAndrewsMP or his government was explained by the infamous “Stockholm Syndrome” narrative in order to gaslight the Victorians.
They turned their hostility towards the citizens, people who gathered and joined under the #IStandWithDan movement to rise against the negativity.
Even though the opposition crossed their ethical boundaries many times and showed a lack of knowledge and simple understanding of pandemic during the toughest time Victoria had seen, they were never subjected to the same level of scrutiny as the government.
They never were able to gain trust of Victorians due to their negative whinging attitude and disregard for the health and safety of public, and zero accountability for the appalling behaviour of some of their MPs. https://twitter.com/squizzstk/status/1333292991012696065
And now when nothing owned, finally, the narrative has moved to the fact that the opposition was never able to make any political gains from the situation, no matter how easy it was for them. https://twitter.com/squizzstk/status/1326755923663056897
The narrative that the vic libs were absolutely ineffective even in their role of opposition is growing. Coming from those who were supportive of their voices during pandemic and in opposition of @DanielAndrewsMP
A momentum is now building around the idea that maybe it’s time for the opposition to reflect on why they are not “cutting through”. https://twitter.com/rwillingham/status/1351456022888550400
Add one more to the list, looking back at the election campaign of 2018. https://twitter.com/sumeyyailanbey/status/1351625321133400065
