what is under attack, islam or muslims?
i'd say both. islam is used to attack practicing muslims. if you're not a practicing muslim, you'll still be discriminated against on the basis of your name. these two discriminations aren't mutually exclusive.

i mean, it's a huge problem that i have to differentiate between practicing and non-practicing muslims here. but the reality is what it is, you cannot ignore it.
when islam is attacked, it becomes our duty to defend it. with pride. not with apologies. these defences include refutations to allegations that can include any and all islamic topics, mostly those with which islam is attacked continuously.
seeing that this is one of the main reasons why muslims are dehumanised, discussions on these topics are inevitable. you don't like them, don't engage. but we will continue to discuss/post about stuff that is thrown at our face and used to demonise us everyday.
at the end of the day, you cannot really escape discrimination in this country (and in the world too) if you're a muslim. so knowing about these topics in order to refute baseless allegations becomes necessary, whether you are "practicing" or not.
so, please don't enable your own dehumanisation by telling us to stop discussing these topics. nothing exists in a vacuum, everything is connected. friendly, logical discussions should not be crushed.
