A short thread on just a few of the air assets used to secure the President-Elect's arrival into DC from Joint Base Andrews yesterday afternoon, from high to low alt. Securing the skies, a USAF F-16 fighter (prob. 113th Wing) refuels from a KC-135 tanker approx. 24kft over DC
Below, a Cessna 182 Skylane #N632TK surveillance plane circling slowly over downtown
Above President-Elect Biden’s convoy to the Lincoln Memorial, a DHS/CBP AS350 helicopter #N534P slowly follows overhead. On the right, a close-up of the same helicopter taken at an earlier date
Even lower, a US Park Police Bell 412 orbits the convoy at low altitude. After the President-Elect’s arrival at the Memorial, tail number #N11PP departs east over the Mall for a close fly by on its way home (all photos taken by me)
Back with video of the air refuel over DC yesterday, showing F-16 join up on the KC-135. Sorry for the shakiness - this was shot handheld at 600mm on a cropped sensor camera body. @InTheSkyDC
