Thread : This fight is a masterpiece on how to time legkicks when your opponent keeps on blocking. Out of all the weapons sato possesses his lowkick to the rear leg is along with his knees one of the most devastating in K-1 World Max. His knee + back leg lowkick combo is amazing.
1st clip : Look at how after the punch combo, where most fighter would follow up with a low kick, Sato waits a little, waits for william to block then switches stance and instead, throws a knee, then follows by a back leg low kick.replay
2nd clip: Sato hurts William with another back leg low kick. He rushes and throws a straight right and again, feints, stop, waits for the block and times the perfect knee with the leg kick follow up once there is no more guard. Replay below
This combo is amazing for two reasons. After taking several kicks to the back leg Diender wants to block, when he sees Sato's moving, he anticipates a low but instead the knee is coming. And then , once Diender put his foot on the ground, that's when the low kick is coming.
So not only Diender is open for the knee but he still takes the big damage from the lowkick. Below Another feint in the beginning of the fight
Here, still waiting for the block
Sato used the 1 knee K-1 rule at his best by kneeing the opponent and often following up with lowkick kicking the back leg.
The rear leg having most of the weight on it and not beeing as conditioned to leg kicks as front leg, Only one leg kick would suffice to inflict big damage
