There's a high likelihood that this person was already at an economic disadvantage, and being in the ICU was going to add to their debt.
Because of how accessible cam work/OF is, this may have been someone with multiple down identities.

They wouldn't kick a CEO out for working while in the ICU - instead, they'd remove the tools he used to do his work OR fucking let him be.

Our society - esp our healthcare systems - has to stop being so sex negative, esp anti-SWer.
SW is accessible work where most people can set their own hours, rates, and more.
Stop treating SW like some horrible act and start seeing it as real work.
