There’s been a lot of chatter about COVID-19 vaccines this week 💉

Here’s an overview of San Francisco’s distribution process and progress. (1/9)
👉 First, you can sign up to be notified about when you’re eligible for the vaccine at http://sf.gov/vaccinenotify . (2/9)

As of Tuesday, 31,189 San Franciscans (3.6% of SF’s population) have received one dose of the vaccine.

The seven-day rolling average for doses administered per day sits around 2,000. (3/9)
👉 However, the City has said it can administer up to 10,000 doses of the vaccine a day.

SF’s first mass vaccination center opened today at City College on Ocean Avenue. Two more sites (one in SoMa and the other in the Bayview) are expected to open by Feb. 1. (4/9)
👉 City officials and health experts say the biggest hold-up right now is supply.

Meanwhile, the Department of Public Health announced a goal this week to vaccinate every San Franciscan by June 30.

This will only be possible if supply dramatically increases. (5/9)
👉 San Francisco is currently in Phase 1a, meaning healthcare workers and those 65 years and older are eligible for the vaccine.

Approximately 200,000 San Franciscans belong in this category. (6/9)
Finally, a silver lining. @LondonBreed tweeted today that SF’s COVID-19 reproduction rate is 0.99, meaning that “for every person who gets COVID-19, on average they're passing it to less than one other person.”

This signals SF is on a path towards reopening. (7/9)
