THREAD: Why Brentford FC signing Reiss Nelson on a short-term loan this January from Arsenal would be perfect - for all parties...
1. Nelson is unsettled at Arsenal & breathed of playing time. A talented youngster with bags of ability not getting the minutes to help develop his game, rumours have stated he very well may be going on loan to a championship club this January - to get him some 1st team football
2. So the benefit of dropping down a division for game time is clear for Nelson. By going to Brentford, he will be used to an attacking & attractive style of football as is present in the gunners & bees philosophy of football. The transition into a similar system will be smooth..
3. Not only this, but settling in will be even more easy the fact that he would be going to another London club - will former teammates of his. A perfect environment for him to kick on and just ball. Brentford & Arsenal have a healthy relationship, with many players & .....
4...... staff transferring between clubs in the past. There’s no doubt Dasilva/Thompson at bees and some of the former bees coaching staff now at Arsenal could reccomend, convince and help influence the transfer. The fact it is a short-term loan deal means it’s low risk too.....
5. Brentford would be getting in a player FOR FREE, to play in a position (LW) where they haven’t really replaced since Benrahma leaving. Arsenal would offload temporarily a periphery player who could transform and improve himself TONS with the huge potential he has & return....
6. As a much better & more useful player in the Arsenal squad. Let’s be honest the winger situation there is bad and if he comes back 10x the player he currently is next season - walk into the side in the winger role - then that’s one less issue for the gunners, Solved for free
7. There is so much potential for Nelson to absolutely rock it at Brentford. Thomas Frank transformed Benrahma from a mediocre, here & there winger into the best player in the championship - so there’s no reason why he can’t do the same with Nelson, who’s arguably already better
8. Nelson is a cultured player - having played in both the premier League and Bundesliga at just 23 he is very experienced. There’s no doubt a drop down in divisions would really let him unleash his abilities (as Harvey Elliot has done)... & take the championship by the scruff...
9. .... of the neck, helping Brentford gain promotion to the Premier League. That premier league increase in quality in the squad could very well be the difference between promotion and just missing out!....
10. At the end of the day, Brentford signing a premier league quality player for free could help them get into the prem, Arsenal offloading a player that they aren’t using atm, reducing their wage bill and receiving the player back 5x better than he was would benefit them...
11. ...and getting much needed game time for Nelson would take his ability and game to the next level - where he would improve as a player and be able to return as a potential start at Arsenal is more than enough reason for him to want the move...
12. It’s just a question of whether Brentford go in for him. Arsenal definitely want to loan him to the championship and he is certainly seeking 1st team football. @BrentfordFC as explained is the perfect championship club for him to go to, For all parties.
