before we begin; no, i will not be addressing school mode as that's noncanonical.
prior to the killing game class 78 had a whole year's worth of memories removed, and presumably some of their second year too. it's uncertain what occurred during this time other than the photographs provided by monokuma himself. in these photos chihiro is shown happily wearing
the girl's school & gym uniforms and feminine casual wear. there seems to be a belief that chihiro hated being perceived as a girl, when in actuality she hated feeling like she was hiding something. a lot of her feelings of inferiority are rooted in dysphoria and trauma response
it's more likely chihiro hated being perceived as a boy since she was bullied relentlessly for the time she presented as such, and associates that with her trauma. this is backed up by the fact she made a full social transition, dressing more feminine and using she/her pronouns
chihiro never expressed a desire to reveal the fact that she's amab. her resolve to do so only came about because of monokuma's threats to reveal it himself. we have to take the following with a grain of salt since chihiro was not able to speak for herself here
this is precisely why i hate the redundant "it ruins her entire backstory!" excuse, because we never hear about her past from HER. not in the main story nor in her free time events. it seems so blatant that she never disclosed anything because she identified as a girl.
she was quite literally forced into a position where she had to come out. she's struggling to say it, she's visibly weeping. nothing about this is of her own will.
and out of everyone she could've gone to she went to the one person she believed was honour-bound to keep her secret safe. of course we all know how that turned out; the moment mondo discovers she's amab, he murders her in cold blood. even though they were FRIENDS

putting aside this disturbingly transmisogynistic death, it gets worse still. chihiro's biological sex is revealed to the class posthumously during the second trial when kyoko instructs them to grope her strung up corpse. sakura feels her under her skirt and reacts like this
i shouldn't have to explain how this is transphobic. anyone with basic critical thinking skills should be able clue in here.
this girl was brutally slaughtered, tampered with, and violated after death only to be misgendered for the duration of the game.

across the games, manga, and anime.
to conclude; it's ok if you do not believe chihiro to be transfem in spite on the contextual clues provided throughout the series, but you don't have to go out of your way to be openly transphobic and attack people for using she/her pronouns for her when she used them for herself
